Four major Tamil Diaspora organizations are in trouble as Sumanthiran claims he received the proposal from Tamil Diaspora orgs

Which Tamil Diaspora organization sends the UNHCR related draft to MP. Sumanthiran? No answer found for this easy question in the last two weeks make it wonder whether Sumanthiran lied or Tamil Diaspora organization kept it secret from public.

Former Chief Minister of Northern Province C.V. Wigneswaran released a statement yesterday (Jan 4, 2020 - https://velposts.blogspot.com/2021/01/blog-post.html) about a UN request proposal given to him by MP Sumanthiran. Sumanthiran said the draft he gave to Wigneswaran was received from a Tamil Diaspora organization. He didn't name that Diaspora organization. None of the Diaspora organizations released any statement about this draft proposal either.

In the above Interview, Wigneswaran explains why he released a public statement about his rejection to that draft. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j57xDgvOlJo&feature=youtu.be - Dec 21, 2020)

MP Sumanthiran's interview in Vavuniya

Wigneswaran's statements and Sumanthiran's interview exposed possibly a gang of four diaspora Tamil organizations suspected in this case. Once a global voice of justice, Global Tamil Forum (GTF) went from 14 organization federation in 2009 to none in 2020. Therefore, it's unlikely the Global Tamil Forum sent that draft to Sumanthiran. In 2019, the Tamil Diaspora organizations namely Canadian Tamil Congress (CTC), British Tamil Forum (BTF), United States Tamil Action Group (USTAG formerly USTAC), Australian Tamil Congress (ATC) released the following statement welcoming a second time extension of a UNHCR resolution in 2019.

Most likely one of these four organizations should be responsible for sending that draft to Sumanthiran, but so far none claimed responsibility. The draft was leaked by the following page this morning

Dec 12, 2020 Draft with recommendations similar to 2019 UN extension

By looking at this leaked draft, it's quite clear that it simply means asking for another extension at the UN for Sri Lanka. By comparing 2019 welcome statement while no progress made and this Dec 12, 2020 draft, it can be easily guessed that one of these four organizations should be that UNKNOWN draft sender. Actually, one of these organizations can simply state that they sent the draft to Sumanthiran, but refused to do so can lead to the suspicion that Sumanthiran lies to the media about the draft.

For Tamil Diaspora, this is a dangerous trend as there won't be any accountability if none of the diaspora organizations claim responsibility for their secret operation. When Tamil Diaspora publicly advocate for recognition for Sri Lanka's genocide against Tamils, these four Tamil diaspora organizations asking for merely a third extension also seems very odd. As Wigneswaran mentioned in the interview hiding the truth from the community is the most damaging act. Most Tamil organizations and activists worked tirelessly raising voices for justice that eventually get the UN to pass a watered-down resolution at least calling for the implementation of a hybrid court in 2015. Three-time extension by UN ends as Sri Lanka officially withdraw and now it comes to end make this 2021 Tamil Diaspora efforts more important.
