Facebook attempt to erase Tamil history

 #TamilEelamHistory Another Facebook attempt to erase Tamil history. This post (a kind of poem - https://www.facebook.com/vel.velauthapillai/posts/10164285284125562) was about a short form of Eelam Tamil history. Even though the Sri Lankan government destroyed the Tamil hero's cemeteries in 2009, their memories will remain in people's minds for generations to come. The post simply put Eelam Tamil's history in short form says that before 1976, Tamils were hit hard by Sri Lankan regime, but they never fought back. They ran like rats and die in every pogrom since the British left. The older generation didn't know any solution so they decided to form a separate State Tamil Eelam. The youth (Tamil Tigers) fought back against Sri Lanka's genocide and built a great country. But that country got destroyed in 2009 including their cemeteries. Since it was a people's history, it will remain forever.




The post has historical photos of Eelam Tamil heroes' cemeteries. Thousands of Tamil heroes buried in those cemeteries when the Tamil Eelam government was functioning between 1990 - 2009. Even UN accepted Sri Lanka committed war crimes and crimes against humanity and then tried to put hybrid court. Many countries know Sri Lanka committed genocide. Now, everyone is asking to set a tribunal. Before British, Eelam Tamils were a sovereign nation. They democratically mandated to reclaim it and they had it from 1990 and Tamil Tigers entered into internationally facilitated peace talks. In 2009, that functioning western and European style country was destroyed.



It is unfortunate that social media giants Trillion dollar company Facebook tried to erase that history from their virtual world. Btw. Same post will be in https://velposts.blogspot.com/ as every single FB now mirrored to blogs.

The Introduction of the United States H.Res.413 Resolution and the Tamil Diaspora The United States of America and Tamil diaspora relationship may be entering into a new phase with the introduction of the H.Res.413 resolution. H.Res 413 is calling for an international mechanism for crimes committed in Sri Lanka and also acknowledges the traditional Tamil homeland. This time, the Tamil diaspora should pay more attention to ensure Tamils will be treated as a partner, not just as a tool. As everyone knows, a world relationship works when both sides offer something and receive benefits in return.
